Transit Day

It is surreal, but we are actually here! Wow...France.  We've talked so much about it, but now it's reality.
I'm sitting at the dining room table typing out my first quick entry - don't worry, we had lots of experiences along the way....more details to follow.  My foggy brain has a moment of clarity...must have been that shower and nap.  We are entertaining this evening.  Christine and Philippe are stopping by to toast us with Champagne, which Loic and Claudine left for us.  Philippe is Loic's brother - Christine met us at the train this afternoon and drove us to the house.
It felt so good to unpack, finally!  We have been living out of our suitcases for a week. Boston...oh yeah...gotta mention our trip last week.  Such fun!
There will be more words when my energy is up to par....stay tuned!
A Bientôt!

Virtual Meeting

We met Loic and Claudine, our fellow home exchangers yesterday.  Although we were on two different continents, we were able to enjoy a warm if disjointed chat.  We arranged to be available to Skype at 11am our time, which is 8pm Nantes time.  Loic's brother, Philippe and his wife Christine were there, also.  Christine can speak English so she facilitated our conversation.  What made this difficult, also was the delay you get on Skype...frustrating to say the least, but next time we will be ready for it!
I can tell, in spite of the language barrier, that they have a wicked sense of humor, like us!  Loic kept putting his head in the picture, saying things and his eyes spoke volumes.  Claudine asked us if we have enjoyed their son, Yann and daughter-in-law Veronica...I replied that they were 'Marveilleuse'
Philippe and Christine will be meeting us at the Nantes train station to take us to the house....and to drink some Champagne!  Ooh la la! They were interested in where we planned to go in Europe during our stay.  I'm sure they will have some good ideas for us.
